Some information about the site
Plan of the Plot
The sizable plot might also be suitable for a more extensive development subject to planning consent.
The position tucked away at the corner of a quiet close means any development will have minimal impact on the locality.
Existing Bungalow
The existing bungalow is the far property. This picture was taken from roughly the highest point in the immediate area, looking north.
The land slopes away, the difference in height to the neighbouring property can be clearly seen.
The plot only has boundaries with 3 other properties (one for only approximately 3 metres).
Proposed new house
We have Detailed Planning Permission to remove the existing bungalow built in 1966 and replace it with a 5 bedroom family house designed by a local architect who lives just around the corner.
We are delighted by the outstanding design that GWP architects have produced, they would we are sure be pleased to see the project through to completion.
Northern Boundary
The footpath above runs along the northern boundary of the property. Though officially a “green road” there is no motor traffic allowed and it is enjoyed by walkers, joggers, dog owners and horseriders as a route to open countryside.
Behind the small trees on the right a 2 metre high close boarded fence forms the northern boundary. The bungalow is at a higher elevation than the lane and the properties adjoining the northern side of the lane are considerably lower giving the garden seclusion.
Garden Looking West
The bungalow can be seen on the left of the picture. The vegetation on the right, along the northern boundary, provides seclusion.
We enjoy the woodland atmosphere of the garden in summer with trees in leaf. Visitors often remark that it is like entering a hidden world.
Garden Looking East
The mature garden has a woodland ambience which we love. We have taken the minimal maintance approach but there is ample scope for the keen gardener to create something special in the different corners of the large plot.
The east side has a large vegetable garden with two pear trees and we have in the past grown our own produce.
